TV Programme - Health Check |
|
Background A new ‘lifestyle’ television programme was performing reasonably well, however the client felt that it had potential to do better. Objectives Overall, to explore reactions to the programme amongst its target audience. Specifically, to provide feedback on its strengths and weaknesses; elements in the programme that make it a ‘make a date’ programme. How the programme fits in the slot; the ideal ‘mix’ in the programme; the presentation team and its scheduling. Approach We conducted a series of 6 group discussions amongst regular, occasional and lapsed viewers to the programme. Respondents watched 2 episodes of the programme before attending the discussions. Outcome On the whole, the programme received a very positive response, with very few criticisms. Respondents expressed a need for slightly more information, and had many suggestions for the programme. Respondents suggestions for features and items were fed back to the production team, and helped the show grow to be one of the channel’s top rated programmes.
