Employee Satisfaction Survey |
Background A communications company undergoing internal change wished to gauge the opinions and attitudes of their employees in order to provide managerial information and direction.
Objectives Part one - to quantify employee satisfaction and attitudes towards: a) the company's image and culture, internally and externally, b) formal and informal communications, c) pay and conditions, d) career development and e) management.
Part two - to examine qualitatively the issues raised in the first stage; to provide a deeper understanding of the staff's vision of the company culture; to identify ways in which staff members want to be, and could be, more involved; and to explore roots and potential solutions to key issues, particularly communication, recognition and management.
Approach Part one - a questionnaire designed in conjunction with the company was sent to 130 employees of which 66% responded. The responses were analysed by job description, area and length of employment.
Part two - a series of group discussions held amongst employees across five departments of the company.
Outcome The Chairman, managing directors and board of directors were extremely interested in the results and, on presentation by Counterpoint, made recommendations for future policy changes that needed to take place within the organisation.
