Global Data Transfer system
Background
One of the leading Global Telecommunication companies wished to investigate the appeal of a new device allowing data to be transferred much faster. The research was part of an ongoing programme to create simpler, more efficient ways to transfer data.

Objectives
To assess the potential interest of such a system in Europe and Eastern Europe; to identify the pros and cons perceived by the target audience; and to assess the degree and ease of understanding of the product functions, features and pricing.

Approach
A series of groups discussion were held in Britain, Poland, Italy and Spain in order to determine the regional differences in perceptions of the product. A series of models and a detailed product description were submitted to the audience in an effort to uncover the issues behind such the revolutionary concept.

Outcome
In principle, the idea appealed to respondents in each country. However a number of fundamental obstacles generated partly by the local context were uncovered. The costs and perceived barriers involved in using the device presented major issues which our client is currently exploring.
