Qualitative Research Specialist
Beth began her research career in Melbourne in her native Australia, after which she worked in Shanghai, New Zealand and South Africa. She then moved permanently to the UK where she worked for TNS Healthcare before starting her own freelance business. Beth’s main areas of interest are consumer services, healthcare, charity/ social research, financial and communications research.
Like Midge and Alison, Beth has worked across a wide variety of sectors, researching very different social economic groups, with very different levels of engagement. For example, she has carried out research to help identify key messages to motivating young disadvantaged people in South Africa to learn more about HIV and life skills; facilitated workshops amongst doctors to explore attitudes to treatments for various health conditions; conducted accompanied surfs amongst customers to help refine a banking website; and has researched adults interested in lifelong learning.
She is passionate about research and has a fundamental understanding of business issues faced by clients, particularly in relation to communication, emotional needs and motivations, and customer service for innovation and relationship building. She has built relationships with a select number of clients to ensure she continues to deliver insightful, friendly and helpful research.
She has recently become a mum, but in her spare (?) time, she still enjoys reading, red wine, films, photography, Spanish and travel.
